Nitin Sampat

Nitin Sampat is a professor in the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) where he teaches courses as well as conducts research in areas spanning a wide gamut of imaging technologies – from designing imaging systems, camera characterization, color management, art reproduction and quantifying image quality.  

He is an active consultant to major corporations and has presented workshops in imaging around the globe. He has been working at RIT since 1994.  Prior to that, he worked as a Research Engineer at the Lab for Laser Energetics where he designed imaging systems for use in nuclear fusion applications. He has also worked as an Advertising Photographer and a Biomedical photographer before that.  He has a Master’s in Imaging Science from RIT.
